Synopsis

There are strange moments in the history of mankind when geniuses are born. April 11, 1905, was such a moment, as Attila József, the poet, the genius, the one-of-akind was born. His undeservedly short life does not mean that his oeuvre would have remained unfinished. He lived thirty-two years as full as if he knew that was all he was given. Now, we are lucky to get a lot more from Attila, as our new musical commemorates and conjures up the decisive turning points in the life of one of the greatest Hungarian poets. We also recall the first and last loves of Attila's life - Márta Vágó and Flóra Kozmutza. What's more, the literary life of Budapest in the 1920s and 1930s and his friendship with Gyula Illyés also comes to life on our stage where we can witness the birth of the wonderful poems of Attila József.
