A bold fusion of musical styles and artists' personalities in the hip-hop dance performance "Opera Kartoflana". Meetings with the performances of the Lublin Theater Therapy teach us to open up to others and thus broaden our horizons.
The meaning of "The Potato Opera" is based on the seemingly contradictory logic of hip-hop song lyrics about the inclusive exclusion of people who, due to unfulfilled norms, fell into the cogs of a complex machine of social welfare and care. The individual experience of political/social/educational reality established the form of the performance and its expression — and the strategies/choices and decisions about norms and their expression, stored in the actor’s body, convey the present and present (HIP) and way of moving (HOP) in critical reflection over the present.
The actors of the Theater of People with Disabilities do not use an ideological veil for unresolved problems and do not look for opportunities to uphold the existing hierarchies. They O(d) play excluding the excluded.
