The Ladder Within is based on Weöres Sándor's poems, a lyrical stage performance where poems come and go, intertwine and separate, get conflicted and interact. They create a novel space for self-expression, where poetry finds its voice on stage.
Words become characters, their relationship becomes action. Every poem is part of something bigger, they shine light and cast shadow on each other. One will see a symphony of motifs, tuttis and solos. Our gift to the audience will be the poems: please take them home with you, and nurture them – art is reborn once you think of it.
Puppeteer in the most noble sense of the word. She directs, designs, plays, creates a fairytale world with her two hands, sculpts, paints, makes puppets. Due to her complexity, she is a welcome artist in all Hungarian puppet theaters and puppet workshops across the border often demand her talent.
Two of her productions were invited to the program of the 10th Theatre Olympics (The Hammer of the Village - Liliput Company, Oradea; The ladder within - University of Arts Targu-Mures's exam performance).
In addition to the Géza Blattner award, she has received numerous professional recognitions, most recently at the ASSITEJ festival in Kaposvár in 2022, the jury awarded her the Best Children's Theatre Director award for the performance of the ARIEL Puppet Theater in Targu-Mures entitled Once Upon a Time... Rita Bartal Kiss is currently the artistic director of the Griff Puppet Theatre in Zalaegerszeg.
