The Association of Hungarian Puppet Artists intends to realize a three-month ongoing festival programme which has come into being by a joint artistic conception of twelve provincial puppet theatres in Hungary. Productions to be invited carry high artistic value and fill decades long gap in our cultural life. Puppet and street theatre performances, workshops, exhibitions and other creative projects will be offered both to professionals and to the public.
Professional cooperation is in the focus of the international festival. The programmes will give opportunity to the whole Hungarian Professional Puppetry Art Field to join in the international 'blood-circulation' of Performing Arts, to step out of the 'sweet-children-show' category and to present itself on a recognisable scale as a value creating, high quality Performing Art category which can address not only children but all age groups.
9 workshops – 3 exhibitions – 6 creative projects – 53 foreign, 57 home and 7 transborder puppet and street theatres – 332 performances – 73,650 spectators.
