The ABSTRACT International Puppet Festival is being organized for the first time

As part of the 10th Theater Olympics, the ABSTRACT International Contemporary Puppet Festival will be held in Budapest for the first time between May 6-19, 2023.

The ABSTRACT Festival brought to life by the Budapest Puppet Theater is a gap-filling event that offers the opportunity to learn about and be inspired by the trends of contemporary puppetry.

As part of the ABSTRACT Festival taking place in May, renowned artists will come to Budapest, such as Duda Paiva Holland, the British Stephen Mottram, or Ilka Schönbein from Germany.

The program represents the most exciting performances of the contemporary scene, including French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Mexican productions, as well as a student performance of the University of Arts Târgu Mureș.

The ABSTRACT Festival will open with a giant street puppet parade and a concert so that we can celebrate the art of puppetry together for two weeks at the 10th Theater Olympics.
