The Director

Born in 1973 in Brasov (Romania), Sebestyén Aba is an actor of the Tompa Miklós Company of the National Theatre of Târgu Mures, founder and director of Yorick Studio, and associate professor at the University of Arts in Târgu Mures, teaching acting and directing.

He became known as a director with the staging of Csaba Székely's Bánya trilogy, and the production entitled Bányavirág won the main prize at the 2012 Pécs National Theatre Meeting. Since then, he has worked at the National Theatre, the Thália Theatre, the Jászai Mari Theatre in Tatabánya and the People's Theatre in Subotica, among others.

The production of Csaba Székely: 10 at the Radnóti Theatre won the Theatre Critics Guild's Best Production Award 2019, and at POSZT, Aba Sebestyén was voted Best Director for this production. He is also the director and actor of Elise Wilk: Disappearing, which will be performed at the 10th Theatre Olympics.
