Synopsis

Locked in our desires …. Is it a single fate or three different ways of life? Is it the day-dreaming of a character or is it our soul’s escape from everyday’s reality? Our dreams, our hopes mutating into stale, returning ideas with the lack of action, robbing ourselves from the option of realising and living the happiness inherent in the present. Thoughts generated by ourselves, deeply permeated by self- pity, dragging us down into disillusioned apathy.

The Director
Sághy Alexandra

Alexandra Sághy, Harangozó-price winning dance artist, choreographer, completed her studies at the Hungarian Dance Academy. She has been an artist of Budapest Dance Theatre since 2006 & artistic director of the company since 2017. She is also the recipient of some prestigious industry awards from the Association of Hungarian Dance Artists, including “the best dance artist of the season” and “the best choreographer of the season” (2019 Three Sisters, 2022 See you in the air!)

She has been representing Hungary, not only at national, but also at international dance festivals. She has been a soloist with Budapest Dance Theatre for nearly two decades, both Hungarian and foreign choreographers give her solo parts, because of her artistic qualities and performance skills. Her most acclaimed principal role Anne Frank, performed alongside Kossuth - price winning artist, László Gálffi, in the piece, My daughter, Anne Frank, achieved outstanding success in Hungary and abroad. Since becoming artistic director of Budapest Dance Theatre, she has been diligently nurturing and expanding the company’s rich repertoire with great finesse, alongside her dance artist and choreographer’s roles.
