Meetings about the Csárdásfürstin in the world of Operetta...

International Operetta Gala from Offenbach to Emmerich Kálmán.

As the crowning achievement of the Csárdásfürstin Festivalin the 10th Theatre Olympics 2023, three nations will "meet" on a special evening on the stage of the Budapest Operetta Theatre.

The grandiose gala concert will feature the greatest hits ofoperetta literature from the works of Kálmán, Lehár, Strauss and Offenbach,

with unusual duets and surprise productions, interpreted by Hungarian, Lithuanian and French artists.

Zsolt Homonnay was born in Kaposvár in 1971. His career started at the Hevesi Sándor Theatre in Zalaegerszeg, where he began his studies as a studio actor. In the meantime, he was accepted to study operetta-musical at the University of Theatre and Film Arts, where he graduated in 1997 in Miklós Szinetár's class.

In 1999, he was cast as Che Guevara in the world-famous musical Evita and as Jesus Christ in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. In 2000, he was invited to Berlin to play the two roles of the Notre Dames tower guard Quasimodo and Phoebus.

In the nearly 20 years since then, he has performed a series of masterpieces from the operetta repertoire. She has starred in The Merry Widow, The Merry Widow, The Princess of Chicago, One Night in Venice, Gypsy Love, The Savoy Ball, The Bajadér, The Circus Princess, The Girls' Fair, János the Merchant and Baroness Lili.

At the same time, she sang the best of the leading roles in world-famous and Hungarian musicals. She has appeared in such blockbuster productions as Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, Romeo and Juliet, Beauty and the Beast, Miss Saigon, West Side Story, Elisabeth, Dorian Gray, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rudolph, Abigail, Evita, The Beggar's Opera.

Between 2010-2020, she toured regularly with the Budapest Operetta Theatre team in the German-language production of Disney's smash hit musical Beauty and the Beast. In addition to Hungarian and German, she has performed in English, Italian and even at the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, where she performed some scenes in Hebrew.

In 2020, he graduated in theatre directing at the University of Arts in Târgu Mureș. From the 2021/2022 academic year, he will be Head of the Department of Musical Theatre at the University of Theatre and Film Arts.

She started her singing career in 2005 with the foundation of Adagio. The group has a large fan base and has released three platinum albums and one gold album. He and his ex-wife Lilla Polyák have released two albums together: Ketten in 2009 and Két Herz in 2010.

Zsolt also uses his musical sensibility in songwriting and translation. He is the lyricist of several Hungarian hits and the translator of the lyrics of several popular foreign songs.
